What kind of wax do you use?
We use 100% soy wax for a clean, even burn that’s eco-friendly and free from paraffin. Each candle is hand-poured in small batches right here in Illinois.

Are your candles safe and non-toxic?
Absolutely! We use phthalate-free fragrance oils and lead-free cotton or wood wicks, ensuring every burn is clean and safe for your home.

What makes wood wicks different?
Wood wicks provide a beautiful, soft crackle and create a cozy fireplace-like ambiance. They also produce a wide, even flame that enhances scent throw.

How long should I burn my candle?
For the best results, burn your candle 2–3 hours at a time — just long enough for the top layer of wax to melt completely. This helps prevent tunneling and ensures an even burn.

How do I trim my wick?
Before each burn, trim the wick to about ¼ inch for cotton or ⅛ inch for wood wicks. Keeping it short helps your candle burn cleanly and last longer.

Why is my candle burning unevenly?
Uneven burning often happens when a candle isn’t burned long enough to create a full melt pool. Simply allow it to burn a bit longer next time — the wax will level out.

What should I do with my empty jar?
Once finished, simply wipe out any leftover wax and wash the jar with warm, soapy water. They make lovely holders for cotton balls, matches, or small plants!

How long does it take to ship my order?
Each candle is made and packed by hand. Orders usually ship within 3–5 business days once payment is received.

Do you ship during warm weather?
Yes! We package carefully to prevent melting. During extreme heat, we may delay shipping slightly to ensure your candles arrive safely.

What if my order arrives damaged?
We take great care in packing every order, but if something arrives damaged, please email contact@sharedwick.com within 3 days with a photo of the candle and packaging. We’ll be happy to make it right.

Do you offer custom candles?
